Kelly: Recently, when you walk into your local Target or Walgreens, you now notice shelves almost empty. Basic necessities like toilet paper and sunscreen look almost to be out of stock. This is due to the nationwide supply shortage.
Kelly: Starbucks is another business that has been struggling with this problem.
Starbucks worker: There are no big plastic straws, the only ones we can get are these paper ones. We are out of the cinnamon dolce syrup and topping. We are out of a lot of stuff.
Kelly: Companies like Build-A-Bear are urging customers to buy stuff now in time for the holidays.
Build-A-Bear Sourcing Manager: We’re short on basically every category. For instance, we have footwear in the stores for the bear, but maybe the black boot is not there, but you can get the white sneaker. So there’s options, there is just not as many options as usual.
